Policy on the Protection of Customer Personal Information

We will handle our customers’ personal information (hereinafter referred to as “Customer Personal Information”) in accordance with the following policy.

1. Handling of Customer Personal Information

  • Our purposes of use of Customer Personal Information
    We will use Customer Personal Information we receive for the purpose of reflecting it in the operation of the following businesses.

    • Sales, import and export of processed foods, frozen foods, chilled foods, agricultural, livestock and fishery products, liquors, soft drinks, fruit beverages, seasonings, fats and oils, dairy products, confectionery and other foods, feed and pet foods;
    • Manufacture and processing of agricultural, livestock, and fishery products, frozen foods, soft drinks, and fruit beverages;
    • Sales of daily necessities, packaging materials, cosmetics, prepaid cards, books, stationery, toys, home appliances, health appliances, kitchen appliances, pharmaceuticals, and quasi-drugs;
    • Survey, collect, and provide marketing research and management information;
    • Planning, development, and sales of information processing services, computer system design and guidance, computer software;
    • Sale and lease of food display equipment, vending machines, office equipment, computers and peripheral equipment;
    • Wholesale business, brokerage business, agency business of any of those listed in the preceding items;
    • Services with respect to the development of logistics systems;
    • Warehousing business, cargo handling and packing business;
    • Motor truck transportation business and truck transportation business;
    • Non-life insurance agency business and sales agent for trading stamps;
    • Ownership, management, sale, lease, and brokerage of real estate;
    • Sale, lease, repair, and maintenance of vehicles and other transport and handling machinery and equipment;
    • Oil products sales business; and
    • Any and all businesses incidental to any of the preceding items

    In the event the purpose of use is clearly indicated separately when acquiring Customer Personal Information, we will use such information within the scope of such purpose.
    In addition, in the event the purpose of use of Customer Personal Information we hold is changed, the consent of the customer will be obtained in advance, unless otherwise permitted by law.

  • Provision of Customer Personal Information to third parties
    We will not provide Customer Personal Information we receive from customers to any third party without the customer’s consent, except in special cases permitted by law.
  • Entrustment and joint use of Customer Personal Information
    When we provide Customer Personal Information that we handle to business partners as a result of entrustment, we require them by contract to manage the information appropriately in the same manner as we do.
    In addition, we may jointly use Customer Personal Information with business partners who intend to properly manage the information as we do.
  • Handling of anonymized personal information
    When creating anonymized personal information based on Customer Personal Information we hold, we will process it appropriately so as not to be able to identify the individual customer in accordance with the standards set forth in the Rules of the Personal Information Protection Commission and other laws or regulations.
    In addition, we will not conduct any actions that identify the customer personally, such as by collating the anonymized personal information created by us or received from a third party with other information.
    We provide the anonymized personal information listed below to a third party on an ongoing basis after clearly indicating that the information is anonymized personal information.
    ・Anonymized personal information related to purchase history
     Item of information relating to the individual: age, gender, postal code (first three digits), address (including the name of the town), and purchase history
     Method of provision: providing by means of uploading to the server or by e-mail
  • Procedures such as those for disclosing Customer Personal Information we hold
    In the event that we are requested to disclose, correct, cease the use of, or delete any Customer Personal Information we hold, we will respond to such request after confirming that the requester is the principal or agent.
    In some cases, we may not respond to the request in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations, and in such cases, we will notify the requester of this.

2. Compliance with Laws

When handling Customer Personal Information, we comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and related laws and regulations, and adhere to the guidelines of the Personal Information Protection Commission.

3. Security Control Measures

When handling Customer Personal Information, organizational security control measures, personal security control measures, physical security control measures, and technical security control measures will be appropriately implemented.

  • Organizational security control measures
    We have established an organizational management system, including the establishment of management systems such as committees and managers in each organization, the development of internal regulations, the creation of management ledgers or the like, and further continuous improvement.
  • Personal security control measures
    We will inform and enlighten all employees, whether executives, employees, or temporary employees, who handle Customer Personal Information of the importance of protecting such information, execute non-disclosure agreements, and conduct auditing and supervision as required to ensure the effectiveness of these measures.
  • Physical security control measures
    Various measures will be taken to control the entry and exit of buildings and floors handling Customer Personal Information, to prevent theft or the like and the destruction of Customer Personal Information due to fires, lightning strikes or other incidents, and to lock the systems/documents when taking them out, transferring them, or storing them.
  • Technical security control measures
    We implement technical management measures, such as access control including authentication, authority management, control, and recording when accessing personal data, measures against unauthorized software to the system and viruses, measures regarding transfer, transmission, and reception such as by encryption and clarification of responsibilities, and monitoring of information systems.

4. Continuous Improvement of the Management System

We regularly, continuously and flexibly review our management systems and regulations, and constantly improve our management systems in a timely and appropriate manner in response to changes in technological and legal systems or the like, thereby actively protecting Customer Personal Information.
