As a company that supports the life of people through food

Our company was established in 2011, the year of the Great East Japan Earthquake, which is said to occur only in 1,000 years. Through such a massive earthquake experience, our sense of mission was further hightened.
In recent years, Japan has experienced numerous natural disasters such as earthquakes, typhoons, and torrential rains.
In addition, the probability of large-scale earthquakes, such as an Earthquake Directly Hitting Tokyo and Major Nankai Trough Earthquake, is steadily increasing. It is impossible to predict when and what kind of disaster may occur.
We have a mission to deliver food to people throughout Japan, and this mission will never change even in the event of a large-scale disaster.
To fulfill this unchanging mission, we have been working continuously since our establishment to strengthen our business structure so that we continue our business operations as could as possible even in the event of a large-scale disaster.
We would like to share with you the thoughts of our employees who overcame the Great East Japan Earthquake and realized the significance of our business again, as well as introduce our efforts to ensure business continuity.

To maintain a stable supply of food even in the event of a large-scale disaster

Conducted disaster headquarters training based on the assumption of a large-scale earthquake

In the event of a large-scale disaster in the Tokyo metropolitan area or the Kanto area, we set up a "Headquarters Task Force" headed by the President and Chief Executive Officer, and in the event of a large-scale disaster outside the Tokyo metropolitan area or the Kanto area, we set up a "Branch Office Task Force" headed by the branch general manager. The task force, led by the head of the task force and its executive members, assesses the extent of damage and decides on response policies for business continuity.
We continue to conduct simulation-type drills so that the task force can make appropriate judgments and decisions even when the world is in turmoil due to a large-scale disaster.

With the desire for our customers to feel "peace of mind," we are implementing initiatives for business continuity to ensure a stable supply of food, which is indispensable to our customers.

  • Training of the task force

In the event of a large-scale disaster, our initial response, task force response, and business continuity response are divided into three phases, depending on the urgency and time frame.
In each phase, detailed manuals are prepared for each business site and department, thereby establishing a system that enables employees to act promptly in the event of a large-scale disaster.
In addition, the manuals are regularly reviewed and updated through actual disaster experiences and task force drills to improve their effectiveness.

Donation of stockpiled food for disasters

When the expiration date of our disaster food reserves (3-day supply per employee) that we store in preparation for a large-scale disaster approaches, we donate them to children's cafeterias, school, social welfare facilities, and other organizations in an effort to prevent food loss.
So far, we have donated more than 30,000 meals to the above organizations, and the donated stockpiled food for disasters is used for disaster education at elementary schools and for disaster prevention events at other facilities, thereby contributing to social contribution activities in various ways.

Receive Resilience Certification

Resilience Certification is a system under which Association for Resilience Japan certifies companies that are actively engaged in business continuity initiatives based on the "Guidelines for Certification of Organizations Contributing to National Land Resilience" established in February 2016 by the Cabinet Secretariat's National Land Resilience Promotion Office.
We have formulated a business continuity plan (BCP) that covers all hazards, not limited to large-scale earthquakes and floods, and has also made social contributions by donating food reserves for disaster use to social welfare facilities and other organizations. As a result of these efforts, we were awarded the "Resilience Certification: Business Continuity and Social Contribution".
